Grand Canyon from Sunrise to Sunset

On a recent project for Studio Now, Echo Productions was hired to produce a short program about Grand Canyon National Park.  The shoot required us to be at the Canyon for sunrise. We arrived in the dark and carried our equipment to our chosen view point, being careful not to take any extra steps.  After setting up the tripod and camera, we watched the horizon turn deep red as the buttes and canyons became silhouetted. Our long day ended with an amazing sunset out at Lipan Point, where I filmed a timelapse shot of the shadows moving up across the Palisades.  How fortunate to be able to witness an entire day at Grand Canyon, bookended by the rising and setting sun!

Echo Productions Produces Promotional Spot for Book on App Store

A stunning new book by photographer, geologist, and pilot Michael Collier is being sold on the App Store. In order to drive website visitors to the App Store, the publisher hired Echo Productions to produce a spot that highlights the aerial photography over some dramatic landscapes where Michael flys his plane.

Producer/filmmaker Brian Cass filmed Michael flying his plane and photographing over the precipitous cliffs near Sedona, Arizona.  In order to capture Michael's plane from the air, Brian also filmed from another plane, shooting across the air space as the Michael piloted his plane past sandstone pinnacles lit beautifully by the early morning sunlight. " We could not have asked for a better day to shoot," remarked Brian Cass.  " We flew down to Sedona for sunrise.  The winds were calm and the lighting that hit the redrock formations was breathtaking."

Landscape Scenes in the Sedona Desert

When a client was looking for a video production company to capture a series of landscape shots from the Sedona desert, they located our Echo Productions website.  Seeing our work, they had immediate confidence in our abilities to provide them with the beauty shots they needed.  Of course, it's all about the light, and that required some early morning and late afternoon trips to remote areas.  After one sunset scene, I enjoyed the descent off a sandstone butte and subsequent hike back to my vehicle as dusk settled around me.

Shooting Behind-The-Scenes with John Tesh

What does it take for a musical performer to prepare for each and every concert?  Echo Productions was chosen to capture all the pre and post performance activities when John Tesh and his band were in Flagstaff, Arizona.  Our footage consisted of filming his arrival at the venue, backstage interviews with John and others, sound check practice, and audience comments.

Echo Productions at Grand Canyon South Rim

We often get the call when a broadcast production needs an experienced camera operator and crew at the Grand Canyon.  Earlier in the year, CNN.com hired Echo Productions for a multi-day shoot at Grand Canyon.
